Meyer Sound in Berkeley, California has been sponsoring the Gyuto Tantric Choir since 1985. Whenever the Gyuto monks come to the United States for their tour, John and Helen Meyer from the Meyer Sound provide all the necessary sound equipment with a professional sound engineer to make sure that Gyuto Choir tour will be successful. In 2005 over $40,000 worth of sound equipment were sent to Gyuto monastery as their donation.Along with the equipment Meyer Sound also sent sound engineers from Berkeley to set up the system. Now they are planning to upgrade the system again to improve the quality of the sound.

In 2005 H.H. the Dalai Lama presided over the Grand Opening of the new Gyuto Monastery in Dharamsala. For the ceremony and the ensuing teachings more than 5,000 visitors came. Meyer Sound not only donated the complete sound system but also sponsored four gigantic TV plasma screens so that all visitors were able to follow the events and the teachings.

In 2007 Meyer Sound sponsored the sound system during for His Holiness the Dalai Lama's teaching in San Francisco in 2007. The Gyuto monks have been very lucky to have such sponsor and we are very grateful to Mickey Hart (of the Grateful Dead) for making the connection with Meyer Sound. Because of their sound quality, the Gyuto monks choir have been very successful. Hollywood even use Gyuto monks chanting for the sound track such as Kundun movie and Seven Years in Tibet.
