Consecration of new Statues & Thangkas PDF Print E-mail

Buddha1In the Tibetan tradition, holy statues enshrined in monasteries are filled with precious items and blessed in a special consecration ceremony during which the ultimate awareness is invited to enter in and merge with the statues. In this way, the statue becomes a living entity capable of bestowing blessings.

Once a year, the Gyuto monks consecrate new Buddha statues and fill them with hundreds of holy mantras. If anyone wishes to have their statues consecrated and filled with mantras, please bring them to the Center one week before the consecration day. Be sure to write your name and contact information on the back of your statues (or write your information on a small piece of paper and tape it to the back of the statue) and we will contact you when they are ready to be picked up.

There is no fee for the consecration, but a small donation to cover the cost of printing the mantras and other related expenses is greatly appreciated. Any amount is welcome and very helpful.

If the statue has no hole inside and has never been consecrated before, it can still be consecrated. Simply bring it in with your information taped to the back and we will consecrate it.

Please call us for more information about the statue consecration. 408-9269430
