Representing a rich Buddhist tradition founded in 15th-century Tibet, the monks of the Gyuto Tantric Monastic University have been chanting in their multi-tonal style since the university's founding in 1474. Their liturgical arts—among the most complex and awe-inspiring in Tibetan Buddhism—have developed over the centuries.
The tour is benefit the Gyuto Center's plan for building a traditional monastic educational facilitiy in San Francisco Bay Area as well as support the Tibetan community. Audio samples of the Gyuto Tantric Choir:
